Top 50 Albums of 2016

#50 Young Thug - JEFFERY // Trap

I like JEFF, don’t get me wrong. It’s a perfectly solid trap album. But–this is gonna sound basic as shit–I prefer Thug as a singles artist. His projects are almost always too long for me, and I lose interest. I respect the audacity of the record, what with the genderbent cover. Thug is a badass for wearing a dress. Bitches can hate. I fuck with it. Harambe is a god-tier trap song.

Favorite Tracks: Wyclef Jean, Floyd Mayweather, Future Swag, Guwop, Harambe, Webbie

Least Favorite Track: Swizz Beatz

#49 Flatbush Zombies - 3001: A Laced Odyssey // Lyrical Trap

I’ve always felt like the Flatbush Zombies misused and squandered their potential, and 3001 is a prime example of that. Despite featuring a good few bangers and an overall decent performance from the Zombies, it feels like it could be better. The bars are dope, but they’re never mindblowing. The beats are knocking, but they’re never gonna make me nut. The album cover is really the only thing this album truly excels in.
