Guilty Simpson & Gensu Dean - EGO

I gotta be honest, I don’t even remember anything Guilty Simpson said on this project. He’s a solid rapper, to be sure, but he wasn’t at all the main draw. What drew me in to EGO was Gensu Dean’s fantastic, ethereally layered boom bap beats. I don’t have too much to say about EGO. It’s a perfectly serviceable set of classic lyrical hip hop with a tinge of backpacker to satisfy the conscious-heads. And if you didn’t get a single word of that sentence, that’s okay. Me neither.
